Donald D. White, Sr.

Donald D. White, Sr., 81, of Valley Grove, W.Va. and formerly of Houston, Pa. died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015 in Lizas Place, Valley Hospice Care Center South, in Wheeling, W.Va.
He was born October 17, 1933 in Moundsville, W.Va. a son of the late Earl Lester and Mazie Emily Ryan White.
Mr. White was employed for over 32 years at the former J L Steel, Pittsburg works, retiring as a brick mason in the ovens and was later employed by Sears as a heating and air conditioning technician prior to retirement.
He had resided in Houston, Pa. for over 45 years prior to moving to Wheeling and Ohio County in 2008.
Mr. White was a former member and trustee of the Houston United Methodist Church and was a member of the West Alexander United Methodist Church at the time of his death.
He was also a member of the B.M.W. Riders (Pittsburgh) Association.
Mr. White enjoyed traveling, playing cards, woodworking and the time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are his companion of the last 25 years, his fiance, Jeannie Bowman McDonald; four daughters, Luana Gaudi-White, companion of Jeffrey White of Washington, Sharon, wife of Keith Evans of Canonsburg and Janet Osiecki, companion of Kerry Krider of West Middletown and Lorraine White of Avella; a son, Donald D. White, Jr., husband of Tammy White of Newell, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Chad and Shane Osiecki, Michelle Dino-Longstreth and Kari Evans; 10 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; the family of Jeannie McDonald are three daughters, Paula, wife of Robert Beatty of Washington, Darlene, wife of Charlie Galloway and Terri, wife of Steve Helmcamp both of Claysville, and a son, Michael, husband of Valerie McDonald of Valley Grove, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Deceased in addition to his parents are, a granddaughter, Dana Evans; two brothers, Lester and James White; two sisters, Lorraine and Merle White.
Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the West Alexander (Pa.) United Methodist Church, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2015 with Rev. Daniel P. Grimes officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either, Lizas Place, 308 Mt. St. Joseph Rd., Wheeling, W.Va. 26003, the West Alexander United Methodist Church, PO Box 302, West Alexander, Pa. 15376 or A.R.C., 227 E. Grant St., Houston, Pa. 15342. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc., Rogersville, Pa.
