Donald William Bedilion, 79, of Horton, Alabama and formerly of Graysville, Pa. died peacefully, with his family by his side, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 in his home, after being in failing health since January 2025.
He was born in Nineveh, Pa., March 12, 1946, a son of the late Donald William and Goldie Lucille Dorsey Bedilion, and had resided in Greene County all his life prior to moving to Alabama in June 2011.
Mr. Bedilion formerly attended the Nineveh United Methodist Church and attended the Welcome Home Church in Alabama.
He was a 1965 graduate of West Greene High School, where he was a member of the FFA and wrestling team.
Mr. Bedilion was a 50 year member of the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 153 F&AM, the Waynesburg American Legion Post 330, and also a member of the NRA, enjoyed hunting, raising beef cattle and buffaloes.
He was a 20 year veteran of the Army National Guard, serving with the 110th Infantry, Company C, 2nd Bn., in Waynesburg.
Mr. Bedilion was employed as a supervisor by Penn D.O.T., (Greene County) for 31 years prior to retiring, and following retirement he was a part-time employee of Lone Pine Construction, building covered bridges.
On June 4, 1967 he married Barbara L. Inghram who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Diane (John) Whipkey of Blacksville, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Heather (Gennaro) Bonaventura, Cody (Katlyn) Whipkey and Donald (Woody) Bedilion (Jaiden Camper); four great grandchildren, Bailey and Kayce Whipkey, Colt Bonaventura and Stetson Bedilion; a brother, Carl (Anne) Bedilion of Graysville; five sisters, Pearl (George) McKinley of Arizona, Wilma (Roger) Nelson of Holbook, Pa., Patty (Jerry) Johnston of Berlin Center, Ohio, Thelma (David) Szarell of Graysville and Judy (Clark) Moninger of Sycamore, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents, is a son, Donald Lester Bedilion who died March 19, 2003.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 1:00 pm until time of a memorial service at 2:00 pm., with Rev. Dr. William Parker officiating, in the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC in Rogersville, Pa.. Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 153 F&AM will conduct a memorial service in the funeral home at 1:00 pm on Friday. A graveside United States Flag presentation will be rendered by members of the Army National Guard in the Fairmount Cemetery, East Finley Twp.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation or the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
