Danny Miller

Danny K. Miller, 62, of New Freeport, Pa. died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past several years.He was born July 16, 1947 in New Freeport a son of the late Forrest Worth and Rose Dale Gorby Miller and had resided in the New Freeport area all his life.Mr. Miller was a member of the New Freeport Church of Christ and attended West Greene High School.He was an avid sports fan and coached Little League baseball for over 20 years and where he served as the president of the Mason-Dixon Little League Baseball Association.Mr. Miller was serving as a Greene Co. Democratic Committeeman at the time of his death and was a life member and past president of the New Freeport V.F.D.He was the owner and operator of the Log Cabin Store in New Freeport for over 20 years prior to retiring in 2002.On April 14, 1967 he married Ruth Lemley who survives.Also surviving are a son, Scott, husband of Lana Miller of Center Twp.; two daughters, Melissa, wife of Robb Crouse of Waynesburg and Melinda, wife of Michael Lesko of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Danyelle and Jeremiah Miller, Jaden and Logan Crouse, Drew and Brandon Lesko; one brother, Dennis "Pepper", husband of Vickie Miller of Waynesburg; two sisters, Connie, wife of Richard Widdup of Holbrook and Cindy, wife of Steve Varner of Littleton, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews; special extended family member, sister in law, Susie Curry of Sycamore.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Lung Association.
