Cynthia Louise Mccuen

Cynthia Louise (Daly) McCuen, age 55, of West Alexander, PA, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on November 22, 1961, in Wheeling, WV, she is the daughter of Philip and Judy (Hoge) Daly, of West Alexander, PA.

Cynthia graduated in 1979 from McGuffey High School. She then continued her education, receiving her associate's degree in nursing from WV Northern Community College in Wheeling. She later completed her bachelor's degree in nursing from California University of Pennsylvania. Cynthia was employed as a Registered Nurse over the years at St. Clair Hospital, Med Express, W&J College and, most recently, at Wheeling Hospital. She was a lifelong member of the West Alexander Presbyterian Church and later attended Vineyard Church in Wheeling, WV.

Cynthia had a wide array of interests. She enjoyed being a consultant for Thirty-One and Sabika where she met many friends. Cynthia liked exercising and ran several 1/2 marathons. She enjoyed going to all of her son's sports games; she was his biggest supporter and fan. Cynthia loved her home and farm and particularly enjoyed being a chicken farmer. Cynthia always loved gathering with her family at the kitchen table where they shared new ideas and plans and schemes. Spending time with her friends and family was always treasured. Cynthia will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Scott McCuen, of West Alexander, PA who she married on June 4, 2002; her children, Kristin (Ronnie) Coury, of Elm Grove, WV, and Philip McCuen, at home; grandchildren, Charlie and Mya Coury; sister, Carol (Frank) Moore, of Dickson, TN; brother, David (Barbara) Daly, of Flower Mound, TX; mother-in-law, Peggy McCuen, of Taylorstown, PA; brother-in-law, Chris (BobiJo) McCuen, of Taylorstown; nieces, Julia Moore, of Chattanooga, TN, Kathryn Moore, of Dickson, TN, Kathleen Daly of Madison, WI, Alexis McCuen, of Taylorstown, PA and nephews, Jack (Katy) Daly, of Austin, TX, Dylan McCuen and Dalton McCuen, both of Taylorstown, PA.

Friends are welcome on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the West Alexander Presbyterian Church, 303 Main St, West Alexander, PA 15376. A Funeral Service will be held at the church on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Chris Figaretti and Pastor Fred Soberg, co-officiating. Burial will follow at West Alexander Cemetery.
