Christopher A. Carter, 55, of Claysville, Pa. died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 5:30 a.m. in the Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh after being seriously ill for the past two weeks.
He was born April 18, 1960 in Washington, Pa. a son of James Andrew and Mary Ann Auld Carter of Claysville, Pa.
Mr. Carter was a member of the Concord Presbyterian Church, and a life member of the National Rifle Association.
He was a 1978 graduate of McGuffey High School.
Mr. Carter was employed by the former James Carter Construction Company for approximately ten years and had been self-employed for over 30 years as the owner and operator of Carter Construction Company prior to retiring in 2011.
He was formerly married to Donna Jo Watson Carter of Claysville.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a son, Zachary W. Carter of Washington; a grandson, Braedin Carter; a brother, Mark Carter of Claysville; two sisters, Deborah, wife of Thomas Chatlak of Canonsburg and Pamela Carter of Eighty-Four.
At the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 21, 2015 in the Concord Presbyterian Church with Rev. August Hurst officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc., Rogersville, Pa.
