Charlene K. Braddock

Charlene K. Braddock, age 74, of Waynesburg, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Born May 4, 1952, in Waynesburg, daughter of the late William Michael and Anna (Valesko) Knapik.

Charlene had been a resident of Greene County her whole life. She graduated from Waynesburg Central in 1970, then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1974 from Waynesburg University and a master’s degree equivalency from West Virginia University in 1976. Charlene was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church in Wind Ridge. She married Phillip Braddock on April 10, 1982, and they were happily married for 44 years. Charlene had been a teacher for the Central Greene School District for 33 years until she retired in 2007. She had a real passion for teaching and loved all her students. Charlene loved reading, cats, and word games on the computer, watching reality TV with her husband, and cooking for her family. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and deer. Her laughter was contagious.

In addition to her husband she is survived by three children, Matthew (Dani) Braddock, of Waynesburg, Patrick (Leigha) Braddock, also of Waynesburg, and Jamie (Maddy) Braddock, of Carmichaels; two grandchildren, Lacey and Lillian; her sister, Christine Christy, of Waynesburg; and her niece and nephew, Angela Christy, of Upper St. Clair and Gale (Jamie) Christy, of Fairmont, WV.
