Carolyn Joyce Mitchell

Carolyn Joyce Mitchell, age 83, of Berlin Heights, OH (formerly of Nineveh), passed away, Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Mill Manor Care Center, Vermillion, OH., with her family by her side.

Born April 29, 1940, in Waynesburg, daughter of the late Charles W. and Gertrude L. (Rush) Church.

Carolyn resided in Greene County until 2007. She graduated from West Greene High School, then went on to receive her certificate in Cosmetology. Carolyn attended the Beulah Baptist Church. She married Charles Robert Mitchell on May 22, 1965, and they were happily married for 42 years until his passing on November 18, 2007. Carolyn enjoyed candy making, ceramics, plastic canvas, painting, and bowling.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Russell) Yates, of Berlin Heights, OH and two grandchildren, Nicholas Jacob and Mason Hunter Yates.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Kevin.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 11-1 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181., where the funeral service will be held directly after at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Harry Hill, officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
