Carolyn Kay (McKissick) Meinzer

Carolyn Kay (McKissick) Meinzer, age 90, of Claysville, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Townview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Canonsburg.

Born August 15, 1936, in Waynesburg, daughter of the late Paul Douglas and Ferne (Clutter) McKissick.

Kay was a lifelong resident of Claysville. She was a homemaker, a former nurses aid at the Presbyterian Home in Washington and a helper at the local daycare. Kay was a member of the Claysville United Methodist Church and a former member of the Claysville Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxillary. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed word searches, crossword puzzles, soap operas, the Hallmark Channel, and sitting on her front porch watching the kids walk home from school every day. Kay also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Fred.

On April 19, 1991, she married Frederick Charles Meinzer, Jr. They enjoyed 26 years of marriage until his passing on November 23, 2017.

Kay is survived by her sister, Connie Fidler, of Dallas, WV.; four children, Richard P. (Linda) Moore, of Avella, Debra Kay Moore, of Misouri City, TX., Robert J. (Patty) Moore, of Claysville, and Lisa Diane Moore, of Valley Grove, WV.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; six stepchildren and many step grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 11-1 PM at Claysville United Methodist Church, 1279 US-40 E Claysville, PA 15323, where a funeral service will be held directly after with Chris Meinzer, officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Claysville Volunteer Fire Department at 154 Main St. Claysville, PA 15323.
