Barbara L. Logan, 66, of Aleppo Twp., Greene County, Pa. died unexpectedly at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 in The Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa.
She was born November 7, 1948 in Burton, W.Va. a daughter of the late Floyd Burtram and Virginia Irene Burge Carman and had been a resident of Aleppo Twp. since 1969.
Mrs. Logan was a member of the Aleppo Brethren Church where she formerly served as a Sunday school teacher, church treasurer, recording secretary, and was a volunteer with Vacation Bible School and the church community dinners.
She was a member and current President of the V.F.W. Post 4793 Ladies Auxiliary in Waynesburg, Pa. and the former District 24 President of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and was a volunteer with her husbands reserve unit, U.S. Army Reserve 630th Transportation Company in Washington.
Mrs. Logan was a former volunteer with Greene County Community Action and served on the Board of Directors.
She enjoyed the time with her grandchildren, church hymn sings and assisting her husband with raising beef cattle where each animal had its own name.
On November 15, 1969 she married David Earl Logan who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David E. Logan, Jr. of Holbrook and Samuel, husband of Karen Logan of Taylorstown; three grandchildren, Cody Allen Logan, Gavin Ruger Beatty and Emily Marie Tichenor; a sister, Elizabeth Ann Carman of Burton, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents is a brother, Floyd Wayne Carman who died in infancy.
Friends will be received from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 with Pastor Jacob Judy officiating. Interment will follow in Slonaker Cemetery, Aleppo Twp. A memorial service will be conducted by the Waynesburg V.F.W. Post 4793 Ladies Auxiliary at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
