Arlene Catherine Ludwin

Arlene Catherine Ludwin, age 86, of West Alexander, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Donnell House in Washington.

Born December 10, 1939, in Queens, NY., daughter of the late Anthony C. and Emilia (Semenza) Maccari.

Arlene had been a resident of West Alexander since 1984. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1958. Arlene was catholic by faith. She married Charles Casper Ludwin on May 31, 1984, and they were happily married for 18 years until his passing on June 13, 2003. Arlene was formerly employed at Bell Telephone in Jamaca, NY, Ideal Toy Company in Hollis, NY, Electrolux in NY City, and Kade Nursing Home in Washington. After moving to Pennsylvania, she was employed as a caretaker for Shirley Campsey in Claysville for 20 years, retiring in 2012. She loved to volunteer her time, so every day she would visit the Senior Center in Claysville just to help out when her health permitted.

She is survived by three children, Anthony Graytok, of Poway, CA, Donald J. Ealy, of West Alexander, and David Wayne Ealy, also of West Alexander; two stepchildren, Kathy O’Dell, of Erie and Charles C. Ludwin, Jr., of Washington; ten grandchildren, Anessa Graytok and Daniel, Kansas, Savannah, Cody, Christopher, Ashley, Jacob, Kaden, and Malachi Ealy; two great grandchildren, Lyndon Jax Montgomery and Oaklee Mae Ealy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Maccari.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 2-6 PM at West Alexander United Methodist Church 58 N. Liberty Rd. West Alexander, PA 15376, where a funeral service will be held directly after with Pastor Jake Judy, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to McGuffey Claysville Senior Center 105 Green Street Claysville, PA 15323.
