Alice "Sis" F. (Tedrow) Varner

Alice “Sis” F. (Tedrow) Varner, age 83, of Wind Ridge, passed away, Friday, May 8, 2026, in her home with her family by her side.

Born October 13, 1942, in Aleppo, daughter of the late Clyde and Myrtle Marie (Gorby) Tedrow.

Sis had been a Greene County resident since 1985 after moving from Moundsville, WV. She was a former member of the Long Run Church of God in Holbrook. Sis married Charles “Big Hoss” Varner on November 21, 1964 and they were happily married for 40 years until his passing in 2005. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, making homemade pancakes, watching old T.V. shows, particularly Jeopardy, frying liver and onions, and looking forward to the annual family reunions.

She is survived four children, Myrtle Faye (Emitt Williams) Hartley, of Jacktown, Barbara (Tom) Mannion, of Aleppo Twp., Tammy L. Varner, of Wind Ridge, and Ronda Hostutler, of Aleppo Twp.; two grandchildren, Kaylene Hartley and Courtney Foflygen; six great grandchildren, Anthony James King, William Hartley, Jacqueline Ward, Zachary Hostutler, Madlin Foflygen, and Jayden Taylor; two caregivers, Lisa Zorko and Karen Lavigne.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her great grandson, Nikolai Foflygen; six siblings, Harold Tedrow, Joe Tedrow, Mary Jane Martin, Nile Tedrow, John Tedrow, and Ruth Varner.

Sis was the last of her immediate family.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. PO Box 434 Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Jason Tennant, officiating. Burial will follow at Centennial Cemetery.
