Wilma R. Jobes, 85, of Claysville, Pa. died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2005 in the Washington Hospital after being in failing health for the past several years.She was born November 8, 1919 in West Finley Twp. (Majorsville) Washington Co. Pa. a daughter of John Thomas and Dessie Gittings Richey and has been a resident of the Claysville area since the end of World War II.Mrs. Jobes has been a member of the Claysville United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was a 1938 graduate of Hundred (W.VA.) High School.She was a member and former marshal of the Evening Star Chapter 187, O.E.S. of Claysville.Mrs. Jobes was last employed as an office assistant by Dr. Louis Emeterio in Claysville for several years.She enjoyed the time spent with family and friends, sewing, raising flowers, gardening and traveling.On September 5, 1940 she married Wayne Archie Jobes who died November 10, 1971 and was a companion of the late Willis B. Guthrie, for several years, prior to his death March 19, 1993.Surviving are two sons, Willard, husband of Janet Markley Jobes of Claysville, R.D.#2 and James Samuel, husband of Terryle Jean Herrle Jobes of East Finley, Pa.; four grandchildren, Shane, husband of Diana Jobes, Kirk, husband of Jackie Jobes, Tammy Jean and Chad Jobes; four great grandchildren, Katelyn, twins Kyle and Colton Jobes and Savana Jobes; two nieces, Roberta, wife of Richard Martin, Becky, wife of Dwight Hunter; two nephews, Ernest D. (Sonny), husband of Francis Moorehead and John Weimer.Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a son, Thomas Jobes; a sister, Mildred Richey Moorehead Leman; a brother D. Merle Richey.Mrs. Jobes was the last of her immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Claysville U.M. Church, the Arthritis Foundation or the American Heart Association.
