W. Paul Scott, 94, of Morris Twp. (Nineveh), Greene Co. Pa. died at 5:40 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa.He was born April 15, 1915 in Morris Twp. Washington Co. a son of the late William Isaac and Cynthia Miller Scott.Mr. Scott had resided in Morris Twp. (Prosperity) Washington Co. where he owned and operated a farm for 35 years prior to retiring in 1989 and moved to the Nineveh area shortly after retiring.He was a member and served as a deacon at the Beulah Baptist Church in Morris Twp., Greene Co.Mr. Scott was also employed by the former Tygart Valley Glass Company and the former Cress Box Company both in Washington.He was a member of the West Greene Senior Citizens where he enjoyed playing cinch, and enjoyed hunting as long as his health permitted and was a collector of Craftsman tools and also appreciated the time with his pet dog Fritzie.Mr. Scott was a veteran of World War II where he served as a private in the U.S. Army with the MD Detachment #1, 132lst SU (the former Battery D, 3rd AART Battalion)On September 18, 1941 he married Naomi Faye Woodburn who survives.Also surviving are a son, Larry (Butch) Scott of Nineveh; a daughter, Janet, wife of Donald Gantz of Washington; four grandchildren, Tracey McMahan, Michael, Keith and Chad Scott; three great grandchildren, Gavin and Ella Scott and Madison Evans.Deceased in addition to his parents are a son, John F. Scott who died in 1971; four brothers, Gaylord, Don, Roy and Glenn Scott; a sister, Claire Ealy.Mr. Scott was the last of his immediate family.
