William Godshall

William H. (Bill) Godshall, 82, of Jackson Twp., Greene Co., Pa. died Saturday, July 22, 2006 in his home. Though in failing health his death was unexpected.He was born October 18, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pa. a son of Chester Harold Godshall, Sr. and Emma Sarah Fallows Godshall and had resided in Jackson Twp. since 1978.Mr. Godshall was a 1942 graduate of Springfield (Philadelphia) High School and was also a graduate of Kent State University in Ohio.Following graduation he joined the Army-Air corps and served as a co-pilot on the B-17 aircraft during World War II and continued his military career during the Korean and Vietnam Wars after which he retired with 30 years service from the U. S. Air Force as a crew chief on the C-119 aircraft with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant.Mr. Godshall was a former civil service employee of the Department of Agriculture in Wyndmoor, Pa.He was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #81 in Norristown, Pa. and the Graysville American Legion Post 416.Mr. Godshall enjoyed woodworking and making special wood gifts for family and friends.He was first married to Flora Godshall of Wyndmoor, Pa. and on March 16, 1973 he married Rheyma Alyce Leary Zeth who died January 25, 1998.Surviving in addition to his first wife are a son, William H.(Lynette) Godshall, Jr. of Kearney, Missouri; two daughters, Lynn Godshall of Old Forge, Pa. and Lisa (David) Morgan of Sauderton, Pa.; two stepsons, Karl Calvin (Paulie Davin) Zeth of Waynesburg and Frederick Keith (Beth) Zeth of Holbrook, R.D.#1; seven grandchildren, Andrew and Taylor Morgan, Mark, Wade, Adam and Morgan Godshall, Bryn Gleiser; a step grandson, Arthur Benjamin Zeth; several great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to his second wife are a stepdaughter, Kathy Helen Thomson; a brother, Chester H. (Bud) Godshall, Jr.Mr. Godshall was the last of his immediate family.
