Wilda W. Knowlson

Wilda Rogers Knowlson, 83, of Graysville, (Morris Twp.), Pa. died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2015 in the Donnell House, Washington, Pa. after being seriously ill for the past three weeks.
She was born November 29, 1931 in Jefferson Twp., Greene County, Pa. a daughter of the late Neil and Elizabeth Willis Rogers and had resided in Morris Twp. for over 30 years.
Mrs. Knowlson was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of the church choir and had also served as the custodian.
She was employed at the former Mansion House as a cook, and aid at the former Curry Home and a bookkeeper and receptionist for 84 Lumber Company.
Mrs. Knowlson enjoyed crocheting, attending Jim Clayton auctions, crafts, baking, and scripture reading with her daughter and gardening as long as her health permitted.
On January 12, 1977 she married John Barry (JB) Knowlson who died July 14, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph, husband of Jane Swaniger of Taylorstown and James W. Swaniger of Waynesburg; two daughters, Carol Miller of West Finley and Marjorie, wife of Nick Scialabba of Manning, S. Carolina; a step-daughter, Donna, wife of John Lee of Washington; four step-sons, David, husband of Debbie Knowlson, Kenneth, husband of Donna Knowlson, Dennis Knowlson, and Keith, husband of Grace Knowlson, all of Washington; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Shelby George of Waynesburg and Martha, wife of Sam Harvey of Jefferson; a brother, Shirl Rogers of Waynesburg; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a daughter, Kathy Anderson who died November 2, 2014; two sisters, Thelma Harvey and sister died at birth; two brothers, Bud and Dale Rogers.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015 with Rev. Harry Hill officiating and Joseph C. Dreitzler assisting. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Richhill Twp. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Donnell House, c/o Washington Health System Hospice Care, 155 Wilson Ave, Washington, Pa. 15301 or your local American Caner Society.
