Wahnetta Minton

August 18, 1932 — June 28, 2014

Wahnetta M. Minton, 81, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Graysville, died at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past year. She was born August 18, 1932 in Center Twp., Greene County, Pa. a daughter of the late Orval Russell and Mary Martha Kimble Clark. Mrs. Minton had resided in the Graysville area from 1958 until moving to Waynesburg in 2011. She was a member and former pianist and elder of the Unity Presbyterian Church at Graysville, and was a 1950 graduate of the former Center Twp. High School in Rogersville. Mrs. Minton was also a member and former secretary of the Waynesburg Senior Bowling League, a member and past Worthy Matron of the former Emerald Chapter 135, O.E.S., in Waynesburg, who are now a part of the Martha V. Paul Chapter 404, O.E.S. of Washington. She formerly served as the tax collector for Gray Twp. from 1990-1994. Mrs. Minton was last employed by the former Alltel Corporation (Windstream), in Waynesburg for 31 years, where she was an executive secretary and payroll clerk prior to retiring in 1989. On December 11, 1952 she married Robert Lynn Minton, Sr. who died September 8, 2010. Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie, wife of Francis Jacobs of Center Twp. (Rutan); a daughter-in-law, Eileen Beasom of Middletown, Pa.; three grandchildren, Timothy Jacobs, Katherine and Jena Minton; a brother, Wayne, husband of Helen Clark of Waynesburg. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, Robert Lynn Minton, Jr. who died in 1997 and a foster sister, Irene Tarnoff. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014 with Pastor Walt Stevenson officiating. Interment will follow in Braddock Cemetery, Graysville, Pa. The Martha V. Paul Chapter 404, O.E.S. of Washington will conduct a memorial service in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Monday. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Hospice Care of The Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, Pa. 15301 or the Unity Presbyterian Church, Graysville, Pa. 15337.
