Viola Logsdon

Viola M. Clark Logsdon, 89, of Washington and formerly of Claysville, Pa. died at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2008 in the Hixenbaughs Convalescence Home, Claysville, Pa. after being in failing health for the past three years. She was born June 6, 1918 in East Finley Twp., Washington County, Pa. a daughter of Charles Morgan and Grace Mae Scott Elliott and had resided in East Finley Twp. and Claysville for several years prior to moving to Washington in 1986. Mrs. Logsdon was a member of Claysville United Presbyterian Church and was a former member and chaplain of the V.F.W. Auxiliary #839 in Washington. She was an employee at the former Route 40 Toll Gate in her early years and was last employed by the former Exit 3 Truck Stop as a waitress and cook for several years. Mrs. Logsdon enjoyed crocheting, sewing and crafting. She was first married to Gaylord Clark who died in September 1976 and on March 31, 1979 she married Frank Allison "Al" Logsdon who died November 7, 2006. Surviving are two daughters, Leona Mae O'Banion of Long Beach, Ca. and Norma Jean Celis-Hayes, wife of Troy Hayes of Terra Bella, Ca.; two sons, Donald Ray, husband of Carol Clark of Los Alamitos, Ca. and Cecil, husband of Vicki Clark of Claysville, Pa.; nine grandchildren, four step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husbands are one step-daughter, Linda Zogg; one step-son, Frank C. Logsdon; one sister, Edith Elliott; two brothers, Melvin and Russell Elliott. She was the last of her immediate family.
