Victor D. Barlow, Sr., 85, of Holbrook (Bluff), Pa. died at 2:34 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 in his home after being seriously ill for the past six months. He was born April 3, 1929 in Waynesburg, Pa. son of the late Thomas Guy and Goldie Mae Brooks Barlow and had resided in Perth Amboy, New Jersey prior to returning to Greene County and had resided in the Bluff area for the past 52 years. Mr. Barlow enjoyed auto repair and working around his home. He was last employed as a truck driver for Pa. Department of Transportation for 31 years prior to retiring in 1982. On August 9, 1951 he married Mary Ethel Eddy who died March 19, 2000. Surviving are sons, Victor D., Jr., Paul E. and George A. Barlow all of Waynesburg, Franklin S. and Anthony B. Barlow, both at home, Walter W., husband of Cheryl Barlow of New Freeport and John W. Barlow of Aleppo; daughters, Tina M. Kennedy of Waynesburg, Teresa, wife of Mike Whipkey of Aleppo, Dorothy, wife of Lloyd Kennedy of New Freeport, Lisa Barlow of Cheat Lake, W.Va. and Tammy, wife of Joel Harvey of Mooresville, W.Va.; adopted grandson, Roger Barlow at home and adopted granddaughter, Christina Barlow of Aleppo; 33 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are a set of twins who died in infancy; two sons, Thomas Albert and Alvin Andrew Barlow; two sisters, Nellie Schooley and Elizabeth Rosa Mae Barlow; seven brothers, Nick, Pete, Joe, Charles, Liberty, Paul and Albert Barlow. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., the time of services Monday, October 6, 2014 in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery (Bluff), Jackson Twp.
