Obituary for Thomas Richmond Jr
Thomas J. Richmond, Jr., 59, of West Alexander, Pa. died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2006 in the Donnell House, Washington, Pa. after battling a cancer related illness for the past six months. He was born October 29, 1946 in Washington, Pa. a son of the late Thomas Joe Richmond, Sr. and Kathleen Hampe Richmond and resided in the Claysville and West Alexander areas most of his life. Mr. Richmond was a 1964 graduate of McGuffey High School.He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served as a Sargeant with the 61st Fld Maint. Sq., MAC at the Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA. and was a member of the Claysville American Legion Post 639.Mr. Richmond was a former employee of McGraw Edison, Steeltron and has been employed by Rockwell Automation/ Reliance Electric of Washington as a machinist for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Sultans Car Club of Canonsburg and enjoyed antique autos, cross-country car cruises and he and his late father restored a 1939 Buick Coupe. Mr. Richmond was an avid poker player and enjoyed hunting and assisted his wife the owner operator of Minihawk Schnauzers and was a former award winning competitive archerer.On October 27, 2001, he married Connie J. Kovalski Hawk Richmond who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are one step son, Michael William Hawk of Yorkville, Oh.; one step daughter, Cherylann Hawk, wife of Jeremiah Mehl of Winchester, Va.; two step-grandchildren, Farah Dawn Hawk and Cheyenne Autumn Mehl; one sister, Linda, wife of Edward Borkowski of Claysville, Pa.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
