Thomas Palmer

Thomas Guy Palmer, 67, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Aleppo, Pa. died at 4:00 p.m. Monday, Janaury 31, 2011 in the Golden Living Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past several years.He was born May 22, 1943 in Wileyville, W.Va. a son of Josephine Kathryn Vandine Palmer Crane of Pursglove, W.Va. and the late Guy Alzie Palmer and had resided in the Aleppo Twp. area most of his life.Mr. Palmer attended West Greene High School and was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Navy.He was employed in pipeline construction, and in local oil fields prior to being employed as a deckhand on the Monongahela, Allegheny and Ohio rivers with Johnson Towing in Shippingport,Pa. for several years prior to retiring in 1992.Surviving in addition to his mother, is a sister, Loretta Mitchell of Pursglove, W.Va.;three nieces and one nephew.Deceased in addition to his father is a brother, Richard L. Palmer.All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
