Sylvia Debolt

Sylvia Debolt, 84, of Springhill Twp. (Deep Valley) Pa., died at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past 10 years. She was born January 22, 1921 a daughter of Charles Herman and Elizabeth Hicks Riggs.Mrs. Debolt was a former member of the Sandhill Church of Christ and a current member of the Hundred Church of Christ. In 1948, she married Curtis Eugene Debolt who died on November 30, 1966 and shared her home with the late Ralph K. Garrison from 1969 until his death on December 11, 1988.Surviving are a son, Danny Debolt, Sr. with whom she shared her home since 1999; two grandchildren, Danny Debolt, Jr. and Mylinda Moore; five great grandchildren; one brother, Hubert Riggs of Mansfield, Ohio.Deceased in addition to her husband and companion are five sisters, Ethel Riggs who died in infancy, Pearl Miller, Carrie Prendagast, Orpha and May Whitlatch; five brothers, Lester and Evertt Riggs who both died in infancy, Edward, Howard, and Raymond Riggs.The funeral home will not accept flowers at the request of the deceased, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society (Greene County) 197 West Strawberry St., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370 or the American Diabetes Foundation 300 Penn Center Blvd, Suite 602, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15235.
