Obituary for Shirley B. Grim

Shirley B. Grim, age 89, of Wind Ridge, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Cameron Nursing & Rehab, Cameron, WV.

Born August 13, 1928 in Wind Ridge, PA, she was the daughter of the late John William and Elva Lorena (McGlumphy) Baldwin.

She was a 1947 graduate of Richhill High School and a 1958 graduate of Irene’s Beauty Academy. On June 19, 1947, she married Lloyd Pershing Grim and they spent their life together in Wind Ridge where Shirley had a life-long career as a beautician. For 38 of those years, she owned and operated Shirley Grim’s Beauty Shop.

Shirley was a member of the Wind Ridge Christian Church. She was a past Charter Member and Treasurer of Richhill Township. She also served in the auxiliary for several organizations including the Moose Lodge #461 in Waynesburg, PA, the American Legion Post #18, in Cameron, WV, and the V.F.W. Post #4793, in Waynesburg, PA. In addition to these organizations, Shirley was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Emerald Chapter #135, in Waynesburg, PA.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, long-time friends and neighbors, Jessica (Justin) Carpenter and Marlene Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Pershing Grim, who passed away in October 1978; a son, Lloyd Edward “Eddie” Grim who passed in August of 2002; sister, Helen Aldene Brooks Henshaw; brother, Kenneth E. Baldwin.

A private graveside service will be held in Jacksonville Cemetery, Wind Ridge, PA. Arrangements were entrusted to Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA, 15359 Phone: (724) 499-5181.
