S. Joanne Ruiz, 74, of Gilmore Twp. Greene Co. Pa. died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at 5:30 a.m. in the North Hills Pasavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.She was born April 5, 1936 in Monongalia Co. W.Va. a daughter of the late Clara Mae Drew Baily Show and had resided in Florida for several years prior to returning to Greene Co. in 1994.Mrs. Ruiz enjoyed visiting local casino's and playing bingo as long as her health permitted, and watching golf and bowling.She was the co-owner, with her late husband, of the former Joanne's Country Living Group Home in Ellenton, Fl. and her and her late husband were also house parents in Florida.Mrs. Ruiz was last employed as a nurse aid and cook with the Respi Center in Waynesburg.On March 3, 1970 she married Joseph Ruiz who died March 27, 1997.Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Curfman, wife of Charles Wise of Gilmore Twp. and Lisa Curfman, wife of Shane Jolliff of Ashville, S. Carolina; a son, Ralph, husband of Marci Curfman of Bradenton, Fl.; two step daughters, Debra Jo Spanaway and Sandra, wife of David Crow both of Palmetto, Fl.; a foster child, Debra Conrad at home; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to her parents is a son, Donald Curfman; a brother, August Edward Bailey.Mrs. Ruiz was the last of her immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
