Ruth M. Wright, 87, of West Alexander, Pa. died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2006 in the Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center in Wheeling, W.Va. after a serious illness of one week.She was born January 16, 1919 in Donegal Twp., Washington County, Pa. a daughter of R. E. and Olive Irene Gibson McAdoo and had resided in West Alexander all her life. Mrs. Wright was a member of the West Alexander Christian Church and was a 1937 graduate of West Alexander High School and had attended Penn Commercial Business College.She was formerly employed by Hancher's Truck Stop and as an elder care person in the West Alexander area and was self- employed farmer all of her life and as long as her health permitted.Mrs. Wright was a lifelong Democrat serving on the Washington County Democratic Executive Committee and served as a committeewoman for over 50 years, and also served as Donegal Twp. Assessor for over 50 years.She was a 40 year member of the West Alexander American Legion Auxiliary and Past President and member of the Washington County Tri-County Council and numerous homemakers associations. She was a member of the West Alexander Golden Ager Senior Citizens, and a member of the O.E.S., Evening Star Chapter 187 of Claysville. On August 26, 1943, she married Harley Eugene Wright who died January 25, 1966.Surviving are a son, Robert E., husband of Judy Frishette Wright of West Alexander; three grandchildren, Kathleen, wife of Sam Croft, David, husband of Marcie Laudermilt Wright and Brian, husband of Jessica McCord Wright, all of West Alexander; two great grandsons, Evan and Tyler Wright; "Buss" husband of Joan Cunningham McAdoo of West Alexander and other relatives. Deceased in addition to her husband are two children who died in infancy.She was the last of her immediate family. A memorial service will be conducted by the Evening Star Chapter 187 at 7p.m, Monday in the church and a memorial service will be conducted by the West Alexander American Legion Auxiliary the at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Residents Council Activity Fund c/o Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center, PO Box 6316, Wheeling, W.Va. 26003
