Ruth Koffler

Ruth A. Koffler, 82, of Waynesburg and formerly of Lewisburg, Pa. died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.She was born May 19, 1926 in Scranton, Pa. a daughter of Frank and Clara Sabo and was a member of the Chosen People Ministries, Inc.Mrs. Koffler had resided in New York (the Bronx) for several years prior to returning to Pa. and the Lewisburg area in 1985 where she resided for 21 years prior to moving to Waynesburg in November 2006 due to ill health.She was employed as a photo lab technician for approximately 10 years in New York and after returning to Pa. was involved in the foster grandparent program in the Lewisburg area for 18 years prior to retiring.Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn, wife of John McCaffrey of Charlotte, N. Carolina; a son Ralph, husband of Hazel Courtwright Koffler of Wind Ridge; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren.Mrs. Koffler was the last of her immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Chosen People Ministries, Inc. and The Foster Grandparents Program of Central PA, 1000 Route 522, Selinsgrove, PA 17870.
