Biography
Ruth (Marilyn) Bissett Huskey, 90, of Wyanet, IL. and formerly of Wind Ridge, Pa., died at 4:15 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 in her home after being in failing health for the past several years. She was born July 12, 1924 in Aleppo Twp., Greene County, Pa. a daughter of the late Earl C. and Violet Pearl Cook Bissett and had resided in the Graysville and Wind Ridge areas all her life prior to moving to Illinois in July of 2010. Mrs. Huskey was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church at Graysville, Pa. She was a graduate of the former Waynesburg High School and the former Irene's Beauty Academy in Washington, Pa. Mrs. Huskey owned and operated a beauty shop, while at the same time assisted her husband with the bookwork of the former Bissett & Huskey Garage, both in Wind Ridge. She loved working and playing on her computer, making greeting cards for all occasions for her family and friends, enjoyed her time with family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, long Sunday drives, was a Steeler and Pirate fan, and enjoyed playing cinch. On July 10, 1946 she married Durwood Allen Huskey who died May 22, 1981. Surviving are two daughters, Phyllis, wife of Joe Jamison of Tiskilwa, IL. and Patricia Huskey of Washington; two sons, Richard, husband of Karen Huskey of Buda, IL. and John, husband of Sharon Huskey of Murdock, KA.; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter (Shorty), husband of Carol Bissett and Hubert Bissett, both of Center Twp. (Rutan); several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, Harold Huskey who died in infancy; two sisters, Jean Antill and Rosemary Fletcher; three brothers, William, George and Paul Bissett. Friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 with Rev. Bruce Judy officiating and Pastor Nelson Boone assisting. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Twp. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Fairview United Methodist Church, 331 Poland Run Rd., Graysville, Pa. 15337, the Vitas Hospice, 105 Marquette St., LaSalle, IL. 61301 or a charity of your choice.
