Ruby Hughes

Ruby M. Hughes, 76, of Norristown, Pa. and formerly of Wind Ridge, Pa. died at 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2006 in the Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa. after being seriously ill since December.She was born June 18, 1929 in Wind Ridge a daughter of Allen Harlan and Lydia Finnegan Headley and had resided in Phoenix, AZ. for several years prior to moving to Norristown in 1994.Mrs. Hughes formerly attended the Wind Ridge Christian Church and was a graduate of the former Richhill Township High School in Wind Ridge.She was employed most of her working life as a waitress and was last employed by the Springford Country Club in Royersford, Pa. prior to her retirement.Mrs. Hughes enjoyed quilting, crafts, jigsaw puzzles and traveling.She was married to the late Paul Mackal Hughes.Surviving are a daughter, Marie, wife of James Waters of Norristown with whom she made her home; three sons, Thomas (Jennie) Hughes of Colorado Springs, CO., Daniel Hughes of Pottstown and Walter Hughes of Cameron, W.VA.; three sisters, Esther Kubico of Boardman, Ohio, Betty (Don) Hammond of Struthers, Ohio and Shirley (Ron) Beckman of Columbiana, Ohio; one brother, Allen H. (Smoke) (Patty) Headley, Jr. of Wind Ridge; four grandchildren, Tyler, Aidan and Galen Hughes, Lisa Marie Echroth.Deceased are one sister, Ruth Crooks; one brother, Harry Headley.
