Roy Shriver

Roy Allen Shriver, 72 of Graysville, Pa. died at 7:00am Saturday, October 18, 2003 in his home after a brief illness.He was born December 3, 1930 in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of William Allen and Gail Evelyn McDonald Shriver and has been a resident of the Graysville area most of his life.Mr. Shriver was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church in Graysville where he was currently serving as an elder and trustee and was a member of the choir.He was an employee of the former AP in Waynesburg and P.P.G. in Washington and was employed as an auto glass installer with American Glass and Mirror in Washington for over 30 years, and was a former employee of Waynesburg Glass Mirror and has been employed by A M Glass in Washington since 1998.He was a 1949 graduate of Richhill High School.Mr. Shriver and his wife were co-owners and operators of the former Shriver Family Restaurant in Graysville from 1980 until 1990 and have co-owned and operated the Shriver Country Store in Graysville since 1988.He was a former member of the Keystone Tractor Club.Mr. Shriver enjoyed cutting firewood and the time spent with his grandchildren and visiting Wheeling Downs.On September 6, 1949 he married Mary Marie Whipkey Shriver who survives.Also surviving are four daughters, Penny K. Sergent of Galena, Ohio, Cindy S. Ross and Sherry L. Denman both of Graysville and Beverly D. Mull; one son, Troy A. Shriver of Washington; one brother, Jack Shriver of the state of California; two sisters, Ann Berg of Washington and Isadore Thomas of the state of California; eleven grandchildren, Chad and Lisa Ross, Travis and Allison Denman, Holly Lombardo, Nick, Hope, Trenton and A.J. Shriver, Tammy Durbin and Rusty Chambers; four great grandchildren.Deceased are two sons, Ralph Allen Shriver who died in 1949 and Randy Allen Shriver, Sr. who died July 4, 2001; one brother, Donald Shriver; one sister, Norma Jean Muroski.
