Biography
Ronald Wise, 74, of New Freeport, Pa. died unexpectedly at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in WVU (Ruby) Hospitals, Inc. Morgantown, W.Va. He was born July 21, 1940 in Wana, W.Va. a son of the late Samuel Rex and Helen Pauline Britton Wise and had resided in the New Freeport and Gilmore Twp. areas most of his life. Mr. Wise attended West Greene High School and is listed on the cradle role at Beulah Baptist Church in Blacksville, W.Va. He was employed by the former Bissett Construction Company, the former Grim Trucking Company, both in New Freeport, prior to being employed by the former Penn Line Service (Forest Construction) as a lineman and electrician for 40 years, retiring in 1999, where he was a member of the U.M.W.A. (Fairmont Local). Mr. Wise enjoyed hunting and fishing and the time spent with his family. On November 24, 1961 he married Jean Hull who survives. Also surviving are three sons, William R. and Michael Wise, R. Lynn, husband of Ginger Wise, all of New Freeport; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Billy, Corey and Mackenzie Wise; a sister, M. Susan, wife of Rev. Vernon K. Berdine of New Freeport; several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are two brothers, Donald E. and Edward Wise. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the time of services, Friday, October 31, 2014 in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. with Pastor Cynthia Deter officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Gilmore Twp. At the request of the family, flowers will not be accepted at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370 or your local American Heart Association.
