Robert William Richey

Robert W. Richey, 85, of West Finley, Pa. died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Donegal Twp., in the home of his caretaker, Ruth Hartzell, after being in failing health for the past several years.
He was born April 6, 1930 in Dallas, W.Va. a son of the late Jesse Erville and Thelma Ollie Geho Richey and had resided in West Finley Twp. most of his life.
Mr. Richey was a member and former trustee of the Windy Gap Presbyterian Church at West Finley, and was a 1948 graduate of the former West Alexander High School.
He was also a member and past Master of the West Finley Grange and the West Finley Senior Citizens Friendship Club.
Mr. Richey was a self-employed dairy and beef farmer in West Finley Twp. most of his life, and as long as his health permitted, and was also a former trackman for the railroad, and a self-employed carpenter.
He had served as a road supervisor in West Finley Twp. for over 35 years prior to retiring in 2001.
On May 31, 1952 he married Mary Alice West who died July 4, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Norma Jean, wife of Herb Morris and Carol Ann, wife of Jim Sloane, both of Claysville; three grandchildren, Donna Ealy, Barbara and Douglas Morris; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas, husband of Linda Richey of Monongahela and and Roy, husband of Donna Richey of Aliquippa; two sisters, Ruth Vensel and Marie Gray, both of West Alexander; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents and his wife are a sister, Helen Richey; his step-mother, Hazel Rummell Richey; a step-sister, Marlyn Beck.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until time of services at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015, in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa., with Rev. Keith Hornung officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, W.Va. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Foundation of America or to the Washington Health System Hospice Care, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, Pa. 15301.
