Robert Whipkey

Robert W. Whipkey, 79, of Graysville, Pa. died at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past year. He was born January 12, 1929 in Morris Twp. (Time), Greene Co. Pa. a son of Glen Gerald and Artie Lela Martin Whipkey and had resided in the Time and Graysville areas all his life. Mr. Whipkey was a former truck driver with the Pa. Department of Transportation(Waynesburg), Atlas Railroad Company, a school bus driver and mechanic with the former Coffield Carroll garage in Graysville, Carnation Milk in Cameron, W.Va., was last employed by Cameron Lumber. Surviving are four sons, Gary, husband of Donna Whipkey of Graysville, Donnie, husband of Janine Whipkey of Moundsville, W.Va., Kevin, husband of Tammy Whipkey of West Finley and David, husband of Beth Whipkey of Waynesburg; two daughters, Crystal, wife of Kevin Campbell of Wind Ridge and Teresa, wife of John Davis of West Finley; two brothers, Harold Whipkey of Burgettstown and Reed Whipkey, companion of Mary Pierson of West Finley; two sisters, Mary Shriver of Graysville and Kathleen, wife of Harold West of Westerville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren. Deceased in addition to his parents are a grandson, Jesse Lazear and a brother who died in infancy. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. and until time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2008 in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. with Rev. William Parker officiating. Private interment will be held in Braddock Cemetery, Graysville, Pa. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Rolling Meadows Nursing, 107 Curry Rd., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370 or the Hospice Care of Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave. Washington, Pa. 15301.
