Robert Temple

Robert D. Temple, 63, of Waynesburg, Pa. died at 9:21 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2009 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center emergency room in Waynesburg. He had been in failing health for the past several years but his death was unexpected.He was born January 21, 1946 in Waynesburg a son of the late David Lindsey and Nettie Katheryn Johnson Temple and had resided in Meridian, Mississippi most of his adult life prior to returning to Waynesburg in 1998.Mr. Temple was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Navy.He was employed as a coast to coast truck driver with several different freight lines for 27 years prior to retiring do to ill health.Surviving is his companion of the last two year, Mary Eddy.Also surviving are a son, Robert D. Temple, Jr., husband of Mindy Temple of Meridian, Mississippi; three daughters, Cassandra, wife of Joe Nichols and Diane, wife of Jonathan Smith all of Meridian and Kathy Stoots of Beckley, W.Va.; two sisters, Shirley Tennant of Waynesburg and Jean, wife of Leo Harris of Pearcy, Ark..; one brother, Albert, husband of Alma Temple of Graysville, Pa.; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his parents are a son, Stephen Temple; a sister, Dorothy Brummage.
