Robert Grimm Sr

Robert A. Grimm, Sr., 46, of Center Township, Greene Co., Pa. died Monday, March 7, 2005 at 3:36 a.m. in WVU Hospitals Inc. (Ruby Memorial), Morgantown, W.Va. after being seriously ill for the past several months.He was born December 12, 1958 in Franklin Township a son of Janet Eleanor Coleman Grimm of Waynesburg and the late Russell Dale Grimm, Sr. and had resided in Spraggs prior to moving to Center Township in 1997. Mr. Grimm was a 1977 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He was an employee of the former Foodland in Waynesburg and was also a former employee of the Boro of Waynesburg. Mr. Grimm was a peacetime veteran of U.S. Army and National Guard where he served for 15 years as a private with Company A, 1st Infantry, 8th Battalion and Company C, 2nd Battalion, 110th Infantry in Waynesburg. He was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement and the General TJ Stewart Medal. On December 31, 1993, he married Cindy Louise Yeager Grimm who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are one son, Robert A. Grimm, Jr. at home; two step daughters, Holy Lynn and Cynthia Jean Yeager both at home; five brothers, Thomas Grimm of Waynesburg, William (Willie) Grimm of Pittsburgh, Russell D. Grimm, Jr. of Connellsville, twin brothers, Donald and Ronald Grimm both of Beaver Falls; two sisters, Carol, husband of Shawn Ninnie of New Hampshire, and Joan, wife of Robert Connelly of Cochranton; several nieces and nephews. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 330, V.F.W. Post 4793 and the D.A.V. Post 123 all of Waynesburg.
