Robert L. Fletcher, 90, of Graysville, Pa. died at 9:43 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007 in WVU Hospitals, Inc. (Ruby Memorial Hospital), Morgantown, W.Va.He was born August 11, 1916 in Richhill Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a son of Winfield E. and Nora Pearl Loar Fletcher and had resided in Richhill Twp. all his life.Mr. Fletcher was a life member of the Unity Presbyterian Church in Graysville where he formerly served as a Sunday school superintendent and was 1933 graduate of Richhill Twp. High School.He was a former volunteer with the Greene County Food Bank for several years, served on the West Greene School Board for 6 years and was a charter member of the Greene County Farm Bureau and was also a member and pilot with the former Tri-City Flying Club in New Castle and was an avid reader.Mr. Fletcher was inducted into the Greene County Voter Hall of Fame in 2001 after 50 consecutive years as a voter and continued voting into the last election of 2007.He was a self employed farmer in Richhill Twp. all his life and was employed by Columbia Gas Transmission for 39 years in Washington, Pa. prior to retiring in 1984 as an instrument technician and was a member of the former Quarter Century Club of Columbia Gas Corp.On January 2, 1950 he married Rosemary Bissett Fletcher who survives.Also surviving are two daughters, Diane, wife of Christopher McCauley of Graysville and Sharon, wife of Robert Iltis of Cobden, Ill.; three brothers, Arthur L., husband of Vileta Fletcher of Inman, S. Carolina, twin brothers, Willard E., husband of Virginia Fletcher of Waynesburg, Pa. and Willis E., husband of Imogene Fletcher of Ravenna, Ohio; one sister, Lucille McCullough of El Paso, Texas; a beloved granddaughter, Bridgette McCauley; a godson, Cpl Joshua Huskey, USMC of California; several nieces and nephews.Deceased are a sister, Jessie Irene Fletcher who died in infancy and a brother, Harry E. Fletcher.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the West Greene School District Libraries, 1367 Hargus Creek Rd., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370 or the Unity Presbyterian Church, Graysville, Pa. 15337.
