Rhoda Thomas Parry, 74, of Holbrook, Pa. R.D. #1 died at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2004 in her home after being in failing health for the past two years and seriously ill the past three weeks.She was born November 7, 1929 in Ravenswood, W.Va. a daughter of Thomas Everett and Clara B. Nestleroad Brannon and had resided in the Jackson Township area most of her life.Mrs. Parry was a member of the Sand Hill Church of Christ.She was a volunteer with Hospice of Washington and Greene County for several years and also served on the Jackson Township election board for several years.Mrs. Parry and her first husband were the co-owners and operators of a general store and gas station at Grimes Hill (Jackson Township) for thirty years.On March 5, 1949 she married Charles Raymond Thomas who died November 12, 1979 and on October 11, 1980 she married Charles Byron Parry who died July 10, 1983.Surviving are a daughter, Eileen Thomas Jones wife of Robert Jones of Holbrook, R.D.#1 and beloved grandmother of Robert Charles Jones; five nieces and two nephews.Deceased in addition to her husbands are a sister, Mildred Brannon who died in infancy and three brothers, Wilfred, Paul and Robert Brannon.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Hospice Care of The Washington Hospital, c/o The Washington Hospital Foundation, 155 Wilson Ave. Washington, Pa. 15301 or your local American Cancer Society.
