Raymond C. Gaines, Sr., 65, of Jackson Twp. Greene Co. Pa. died at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013 in the UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.He was born June 14, 1947 in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of the late Archie Brady and Dorothy Utt Gaines and had resided in Waynesburg for several years prior to moving to Jackson Twp. in 1979.Mr. Gaines was a former truck driver for Hoy's Construction and Ready Mix, and was last employed by W.J. Mott Drilling in Huntington, W.Va. for approximately five years prior to retiring in 1986 and also operated the Gaines Meat Market for approximately seven years.He enjoyed his time with his family and grandchildren, hunting and woodworking.On December 6, 1966 he married Jo Lena Hullihen who survives.Also surviving are a daughter, Jodi Gilbert of Pittsburgh; three sons, Raymond C. Gaines, Jr., companion of Wendy Abbott of New Freeport, Brady, companion of Jackie Gilbert of Jackson Twp. and Randy, husband of Sarah Gaines of New Freeport; eight grandchildren, Lacie, Casey, Carlie, Jesse, Justin and Ryan Gaines, James and Brittany Gilbert; two brothers, Edward, husband of Gladys Gaines of New Freeport and Robert, husband of Jean Gaines of the state of Washington; two sisters, Hattie Roskelly of Bimington, N.Y. and Irene, wife of Roger Mason of Perry, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his parents are three brothers, Billy Joe, James A. and Johney W. Gaines; a sister, Beulah Leonard.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 with Rev. Vernon K. Berdine officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery, Jackson Twp.
