Raymond E. (Skip) Ealy, 72, of East Finley Twp. Washington Co. Pa. died Saturday, January 14, 2006 at 2:26 p.m. in The Washington Hospital emergency room. Mr. Ealy had been in poor health since May 2005 but his death was unexpected.He was born September 9, 1933 in West Finley Twp., Washington Co. a son of Martin Raymond and Cynthia Claire Scott Ealy and had resided in East Finley Twp. most of his life.Mr. Ealy was a life member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church.He enjoyed reading his Bible, attending hymn sings, pitching horseshoes, fishing and hunting, crossword puzzles, he also enjoyed watching deer feed in his yard and feeding hummingbirds, watching the Food Network and cooking, outdoor barbeques, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirate and Penn State fan and treasured the time spent with his family.Mr. Ealy was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in Germany as a specialist third class with the U. S. Army in the 27th Engineer Co., receiving the Good Conduct and the National Defense Service Medals.He was a former employee of Alcoa in Cleveland, Ohio, Andy Brothers Tire in Washington, and Swart School Buses. He was also employed as an electrician and maintenance man by the former Ball Glass Co. and last with Omni Packing both of Washington prior to retiring in 1994 and was a self employed farmer as long as his health permitted.On September 17, 1954 he married Janie May Miller who survives.Also surviving are two daughters, Debra, wife of Don Studt of East Finley and Darla, wife of James Carter of Holbrook, R.D.#1; a son, Rev. David Ealy, husband of Suzanne Miller Ealy of Slippery Rock, Pa.; five grandchildren, Michael and Kevin Studt, Kristy Studt Mattey, Tanya Carter Bowser, Keri Studt Woods; five great grandchildren, Carter, Essence and Vanessa Bowser, Azrael and Kaiden Studt; two sisters, Opal Bedillion of East Finley and Donna L. Boone of Washington; several nieces and nephews.Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Claysville American Legion Post 639. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Fairmount United Methodist Church, 120 Fairmount Church Rd., West Finley, Pa. 15377.Arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa.
