Paul Mounts

Paul E. Mounts, 80, of Claysville, Pa. R.D.#1 died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 2004 in the Washington Hospital after being seriously ill for the past several weeks.He was born March 1, 1924 in Claysville, Pa. a son of Samuel Roland and Rosa Irene Doman Mounts and has been a resident of Buffalo Township since 1946.Mr. Mounts was member of the Claysville United Presbyterian Church and was 1942 graduate of Trinity High School.He was a former member and steward of the Buffalo Grange 1510. Mr. Mounts was a former Pa. State sewage treatment officer in several townships in Washington County for approximately 14 years and had owned and operated the former Mounts Sawmill in Buffalo Township.He was a self-employed farmer with his father until 1968 and in 1941 was named a Keystone Farmer.Mr. Mounts was last employed as a custodian with the McGuffey School District for approximately 14 years prior to retiring in 1986.On January 6, 1945 he married Betty Lou Swan Mounts who died March 22, 1991 and on July 14, 1993 he married M. Jean Wright Ireland Mounts who survives.Also surviving are two sons, Randall Paul Mounts of Claysville, R.D.#1 and Clayton Grant Mounts of Washington; five grandchildren, Raelene Mounts Henderson, Samuel R., Michael P., Scott E. and Patrick R. Mounts; five great grandchildren; one step daughter, Jean Ireland Riggle of Washington, R.D.#4; two step grandchildren, Michael D. and Shayla N. Riggle.Deceased in addition to his first wife are two daughters who died in infancy.
