Paul Maynard "Squirt" Cole

Paul Maynard Squirt Cole, 77, of Oak Forest, Pa. died at 4:20 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 in The Washington Hospital, surrounded by his family, after being in failing health for the past three years.

He was born January 31, 1938 in Franklin Twp., Greene County, Pa. a son of the late Lawrence David Tubby and Helen Irene Watson Cole and had resided in Center Twp. prior to moving to Wayne Twp. in 1958.

Mr. Cole was a member of the Pursley Baptist Church in Wayne Twp., where he formerly served as a deacon, a former member of the cemetery board of directors and was the caretaker of the church cemetery,

He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Specialist Fourth Class with the 824th Transportation Company.

Mr. Cole was a former member of the Waynesburg Elks Lodge.

He was a former employee of the former Plasteel, Levines Junkyard, Acklin Lumber Company, Brown Heating and the Youth Development Center in Waynesburg.

Mr. Cole was involved in the heating and air conditioning trade for over 50 years, and owned and operated Cole Plumbing and Heating from 1976 until retiring in 2008.

On August 27, 1956 he married, (in his words), the prettiest girl in Oak Forest, Brenda Joyce Richmond, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Pam, wife of Lindsey Kiger of Wayne Twp.; a son, Dave, husband of Tracy Cole of Wayne Twp.; a son-in-law, Daniel C. Hopkins of Wayne Twp.; eight grandchildren, Jonathan and Trent Hopkins, Tristan, Hannah and Brendan Cole, Kenneth and Kayla Duvall and Desarae Johnson; three great grandchildren, Karson and Gavin Hopkins, and Mira Duvall; a brother, Larry Lee, husband of Sandy Cole of Wayne Twp.; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to his parents are a daughter, Joyce Elayne Hopkins who died April 1, 2015; a sister, Carol Rush.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 10. 2015 with Pastor Donald Staten officiating. Interment will follow in Pursley Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Graveside military rites will be accorded by representatives of the U.S. Army and the Waynesburg American Legion Post 330.
