Paul Inghram

Paul Thomas Inghram, 88, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Sycamore, Pa. died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born August 6, 1919 in Morris Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a son of John Thomas and Inez Johnston Inghram and had resided in the Sycamore area most of his life. Mr. Inghram was a member of the Bates Fork Baptist Church. He enjoyed coon hunting, assisted his late wife with her crafting projects, and attended the Waynesburg and Graysville senior citizens. Mr. Inghram was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Tech 5, with the 2nd Signal Service Battalion and received the American Campaign, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign, World War 2 Victory and the Good Conduct Medals. He was a former employee of Pete Boyer as a maintenance man, and employed at the former Limestone Quarry in Swarts and was last employed as a laborer with the Pa. Department of Highways for 23 years prior to retiring in 1981. On May 22, 1943 he married Dorothy Ellen Wright who died May 7, 1994. Surviving are a brother, Roy L., husband of Betty Inghram of Waynesburg; several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife and parents is a sister, Helen L. Iams who died July 16, 2005. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc., Rogersville, Pa. where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 with Rev. Larry Douglas officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Twp. Graveside military rites will be accorded by representatives of the U.S. Army, American Legion Post 330, V.F.W. Post 4793 and the D.A.V. Post 123 all of Waynesburg. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bates Fork Baptist Church, Box 1, Sycamore, Pa. 15364.
