Paul E. Craig, 84, of Sarver, Pa. and formerly of Waynesburg, Pa. died unexpectedly at 8:20 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2008 in the Elm Croft Nursing Home in Sarver. He was born July 18, 1923 in Carmichaels, Pa. a son of W. Paul and Dorothy Bennington Craig and had resided in Waynesburg for several years prior to moving to the Sarver area 29 years ago. Mr. Craig was a member of the Sarver Free Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II where he served as a Gunner's Mate, 3c in the U.S. Navy and was awarded the European and American Theater Ribbons and the World War II Victory Meda Mr. Craig was a member of the Sarver V. F. W. and the United Mine Workers of America. He enjoyed playing bingo, dancing and the time he was able to spend with his family. Mr. Craig was employed by Bethlehem Steel Energy in Saxonburg for 24 years prior to retiring as a superintendent in 1990. On January 18, 1961 he married Sarah Suzanne "Sue" Kerr who died April 3, 1998. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Melissa, wife of Anthony Carver of Orange, Va., Paula, wife of Woody Ruffaner of Saxonburg and Sheila, wife of Gary Swisher of Shinnston, W.Va.; two sons, David Craig of Granttown, W.Va. and Charles, husband of Vicky Craig of Rivesville, W.Va.; a step son, Terry Wrubleski of Fairview, W.Va.; one brother, James Craig of Lorain, Ohio; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren; Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are a grandson, Gary Eli Swisher; two sisters, Ruth Barnes and Faye Craig.
