Pansy Kerr

Pansy G. Kerr, 99, of Waynesburg and formerly of Franklin Twp. (Eastview), died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 in the Personal Care at Evergreen, Waynesburg. She was born October 7, 1914 in Wana, W.Va. a daughter of the late Dr. Samuel Clark Steele and Emma M. Renner Steele. Mrs. Kerr had resided in the Brave and Oak Forest areas prior to moving to Eastview in 1973 where she resided until moving to Waynesburg in 2011. She was a member of the Kent Chapel United Methodist Church at Brave and was a graduate of Morgantown High School. Mrs. Kerr enjoyed traveling the world with the senior citizens and her family, reading and crossword puzzles. On February 13, 1937 she married Samuel W. Kerr who died January 13, 1991. Surviving are a daughter, Myra (Frank) Remaley and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Watts Kerr, both of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Jeff (Lillian) Kerr, Holly (Louis) Renda, Mark (Jennifer) Pastoria, Valerie (Michael) Mathason and Danny Lemley; ten great grandchildren, Jordan and Logan Pastoria, Noah Lemley, Emily, Michele and Derek Mathason, Matthew and Amanda Kerr, Jennifer and Joseph Renda. Several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, S. Jack Kerr who died in 2004; a great grandson, Tyler Pastoria; three brothers, John who died in infancy, Rex and Bob Steele; her step-mother, who raised her from the age of six, Opal Phillips Steele. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 with Pastor Mark Pastoria (grandson), officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
