Opal C. McCracken, 67, of Moundsville, W.Va. and formerly of Wind Ridge, Pa. died unexpectedly at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in the West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.She was born Feb. 9, 1943 in Bloomfield Ridge (West Finley Twp.) Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of the late Charles Edward and Mary Frances Workman Gary and had resided in the Wind Ridge area from 1978 until moving to Moundsville in May.Mrs. McCracken was a former member of the Richhill Twp. V.F.D. Auxiliary and was a 1961 graduate of West Greene High School.She enjoyed being outdoors and mowing grass.Mrs. McCracken was an employee of the former Greenway Shirt Factory in Waynesburg, Pa. and was a former school bus driver in the Marshall Co. School System at Sand Hill and Dallas, W.Va. and was also a school bus driver with the former Grim Buses, Laidlaw and retired in 2008 as a driver with First Student Buses in the West Greene School District.Surviving are a son, Larry, husband of Penny McCracken of Cameron, W.Va; four daughters, Donna McGlumphy of Moundsville, W.Va., Kathie McCracken,companion of Waun Ferguson of Miamisburg, Ohio, Mindy McCracken,companion of Chris Beresford of Morgantown, W.Va. and Melinda, wife of Ryan Adams of Glen Easton, W.Va.; a sister, Mary, wife of Ralph Wiley of Sycamore, Pa.; a brother, Karl, husband of Woneeda Gary of Wind Ridge, Pa.; three grandchildren, Logan Ryan McGlumphy, Mya Nicole Ferguson and Brody Neil Beresford; extended family, Pam and Buddy Hill of Wind Ridge, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents is her best friend, Hazel Wickham.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
