Nora B. "Sis" Parson Workman Caldwell, 83, formerly of Graysville, Pa. R.D.#1 died at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2004 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past year.She was born June 30, 1920 in Richhill Township, Greene County, Pa. a daughter of Charles Att and Anna Blanche Cumpston Parson.Mrs. Caldwell had resided in Morris Township (Greene County) and Waynesburg areas for 34 years prior to moving to Center Township in 1996.She was a member of the South Wheeling Baptist Church at Ryerson and was a member of the Busy Bee Ladies Circle at Beulah Baptist Church.Mrs. Caldwell attended Richhill Township High School and was an avid Major League Baseball and professional football fan, and enjoyed traveling with her family and senior citizens as long as her health permitted.She was an employee of the former Greenway Manufacturing Co. in Waynesburg and was last employed as a caregiver and home health aide for several years in Waynesburg, Cameron, W.Va. and Wind Ridge, Pa. areas.Mrs. Caldwell was a former secretary and auditor for Morris Township, Greene County.She was married to the late H. Cecil Workman who died March 25, 1998 and on January 27, 1964 she married the late James W. Caldwell, Sr. who died August 21, 1979.Surviving are two daughters, Karen (Workman) Allen of Cameron, W.V. and Linda (Workman) Whipkey of Graysville, Pa. R.D.#1 with whom she made her home since 1996; one son Lloyd K. Workman of West Finley, Pa. R.D.#2; four sisters, Helen Riley of Elkins, W.Va., Aldene Tharp of Cambridge, Ohio, Faye Morris of Wind Ridge and Nelle Jones of Warren, Ohio; two brothers, James Parson of Graysville, Pa. and William Parson of Trafford, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Randy Workman, John, Joseph, Charles David, and James Michael Whipkey, Helen Allen Marsh, Nora Allen Trowbridge and Wendy Allen Clark; 10 great grandchildren.Deceased are three brothers, Charles D., John V. and Frank E. Parson; one sister, Doris E. Engle.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Arthritis Foundation or the Glaucoma Society.
