Niles Tedrow

Niles W. Tedrow, 78, of Richhill Twp., Greene Co., Pa. died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 in his home after being in failing health since 1999. He was born November 7, 1929 in Springhill Twp., (Mulford), Greene County, Pa. a son of Clyde and Myrtle Gorby Tedrow and had resided in Richhill Twp. most of his adult life. Mr. Tedrow had attended the former Long Run Church of God. He was formerly employed by Dun-Mar Oil and Greene Ridge Oil in Greene Co., Sam-Jack Company of Spencer, W.Va., Atlas Railroad, and Hadden Steel Co. He was employed as a truck driver for several years, and was last employed by Sun Belt Trucking prior to retiring in 1990. Mr. Tedrow was a volunteer at a local food bank, enjoyed gardening and attending horse pulls as long as his health permitted. On November 26, 1951 he married Edna Louise Parry who died in 1992. Surviving are two sons, Gary L., husband of Diane Tedrow of New Freeport, Michael D. Tedrow, companion of Kathy McKinney of Louisville, Tenn.; one daughter, Karen A., wife of Daniel Shipley of Moundsville, W.Va.; two sisters, Ruth Varner of Aleppo and Alice Faye "Sis" Varner of Wind Ridge; eight grandchildren, Gary Lynn Tedrow, Jr., Chad A., Ryan K. and Desiree L., and Belinda Tedrow, Tara L. Thomas, Brent L. and Megan Shipley; six great grandchildren, Emily, Wyatt and Travis Tedrow, Laurel Shipley, Jeff and Colton Thomas; his companion of the past eight years, Carol Elaine Matthews. Deceased are one son, Wilbur D. Tedrow who died May 16, 1992; three brothers, Harold, John and Joe Tedrow; and one sister, Mary Jane Martin.
