Nellie Mayne

Nellie G. Mayne, 93, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Cameron, W.Va. and Rogersville, Pa. died at 7:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 in the Golden Living Center, Waynesburg after being in failing health for the past year.She was born June 2, 1916 in Cameron, W.Va. a daughter of Faye Vain and Sarah Joan Chambers Strall.Mrs. Mayne had resided in the Claysville and Graysville areas for several years prior to returning to Cameron in 1960 where she resided until moving to Rogersville in 2000.She was a member of the Cameron Baptist Church.Mrs. Mayne enjoyed quilting and seamstress work as long as her health permitted.She was last employed as a cook with the Marshall County School(WV) System in the Cameron Schools for 15 years prior to retiring in 1976.On May 23, 1936 she married Charles Covert Mayne who died March 26, 1961.Surviving are a brother, Harold Dean Strall of Aleppo, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a sister, Daisy Bosworth; three brothers, George, Charles Lee and Henry Strall.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cameron Baptist Church, R.D.#5, Box 521, Cameron, W.Va. 26003 or your local Hospice.
