N. Hamilton

Joanne Hamilton, 72, of Graysville, Pa. (Morris Twp.), died at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 in the Donnell House, Washington, Pa. after being seriously ill for the past year.She was born July 9, 1937 in Richhill Twp. (Enon), Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of James Dennis Carroll and Orpha Cleo Allum Carroll Staggers.Mrs. Hamilton had resided in the Deer Lick area from 1972 until moving to the Beulah (Morris Twp.) area in 1981.She was member and former elder of the Concord Presbyterian Church at Prosperity (Old Concord), Pa. and was a member of the West Greene Area Senior Citizens.Mrs. Hamilton was a 1955 graduate of West Greene High School and was an avid high school wrestling fan, and enjoyed crocheting and the monthly card games with family that met for eight months of the year.On October 4, 1957 she married Kenneth Max Hamilton who died July 12, 2003.Surviving are a daughter, Kimberley, wife of Glenn Ruse, Sr. of Sycamore; two sons, K. Mark, husband of Susie Hamilton and K. Myles, husband of Trudy Hamilton, both of Morris Twp. Greene Co.; two brothers, James H. "Bud" Carroll of Waynesburg and Harry, husband of Marylyn Carroll of West Finley; two sisters, Sarah Clutter of West Finley and Mary Lou Amos of Sycamore; seven grandchildren, Kaila Sue Ruse, Glenn "Buddy" Ruse, Jr. and Kenny Ruse, Shawn Victor, Miranda, Carrie and Colton Hamilton; one brother, Ben Staggers of Washington; three sisters, Mary, wife of Duane Kiger of Prosperity, Carol, wife of Jack Dye of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Brenda, wife of Harold Finnegan of Florida.Deceased in addition to her parents are her step father, Milo L. "Mike" Staggers; a sister, Jean Davis; two brothers, Dale and Michael Staggers. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Concord Presbyterian Church, 155 Old Concord Rd., Prosperity, Pa. 15329.
