Mildred L. Wright, 81, of East Finley Township, died at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005 in the Donnell House in Washington, Pa. after being in failing health for the past year and seriously ill for the past four months.She was born June 26, 1923 in East Finley Township a daughter of Leroy Elmer and Eva Belinda Martin Wright and resided at her birth place until making her home with her niece, Bonnie Brownlee in 2001, where she resided until moving in 2004 to the site of the former Stoney Point Methodist Church (now a residence) where she resided as long as her health permitted.Miss Wright was a member and custodian at the former Stoney Point Methodist Church and was a current member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church.She was a 1941 graduate of Claysville High School.Miss Wright and her late brother, Elmer were self employed dairy farmers for 49 years prior to selling the dairy in 1990, and raised beef cattle and sheep until selling the farm in July 2001.She enjoyed raising flowers, gardening, and was well known in the area for her quilt making.Surviving are two nieces, whom she raised from small children and referred to her as mom, Bonnie, wife of Jerry Brownlee, Sr. of East Finley Twp. and Karen Wright Bamberger, wife of Thomas Farabee of Amity; Three great nephews, Shelby Bamberger, Jerry Brownlee, Jr. and Mike Brownlee; two great nieces, Eva Harris and Donna Ealy; seven great great nephews and four great great nieces who all referred to her as "Grandma Mid".Deceased are a brother, Elmer Martin Wright; a nephew, John Carter Wright; a great nephew, William Reed Bamberger.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Donnell House, C/O Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, The Washington Foundation, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, Pa. 15301.
