Mildred Scott

Mildred (Mid) O. Scott, 84, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Rogersville, Pa. died Thursday, September 2, 2004 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.She was born August 23, 1920 in Center Twp. (Hopewell), Greene County, Pa. a daughter of William Herman and Edna Mae Hopkins Orndoff and had resided in Center Twp. area all of her life prior to moving to Waynesburg.Mrs. Scott was a member of the Rogersville United Methodist Church. She was a member of the A.A.R.P. and also was a member of the former Center Twp. V.F.D. Auxiliary and the former South Ten Mile Community Circle. She also enjoyed gardening and yard work. Mrs. Scott was a 1940 graduate of Center Twp. High School and a 1961 graduate of the former Uniontown Beauty Academy. She owned and operated a beauty salon from her home in Rogersville for twenty-two years prior to retiring in 1984.In June 20, 1940 she married Arthur William Scott who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Lana S. Taylor, wife of Danny Taylor and a son, Larry A. Scott, husband of Jean Walker Scott, both of Waynesburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Robb E. Crouse, husband of Melissa Miller Crouse, Ryan A. Crouse, husband of Denese Keller, who was her special caregiver for seven years and Jerrold M. Scott; three great grandchildren, Austin, Emma, and Jaden Crouse.Deceased are one son, Gerald William Scott who died in infancy and one brother, Reed Orndoff.The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pittsburgh Chapter, 1323 Forbes Avenue, Suite 200 Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
