Mildred Virginia Cook, 90, of Cameron, W.Va. and formerly of Aleppo Township, Greene County, Pa. died at 4:20 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2003 in the Valley Haven Geriatrics Center in Beech Bottom, W.Va.She was born August 21, 1912 in Springhill Township, Greene County, Pa. a daughter of Jolly and Icie May Staley Ashby.Mrs. Cook had resided in Aleppo Township most of her life prior to moving to Marshall County, W.Va. in 1971.She was a member of the Cameron First Brethren Church and was a member of the church missionary society and the missionary society of the Greene County Circuit.Mrs. Cook was employed as a housekeeper in the Marshall County area for several years.She was a member of the Big Run Homemakers and the Cameron Senior Citizens and enjoyed gardening as long as her health permitted.On January 16, 1936 she married William Henry Cook who died September 13, 1972.Surviving are one son, Earl S. Cook of Wind Ridge, Pa. R.D.#1; one brother, Lloyd Ashby of Cameron, W.Va., R.D.#4; two granddaughters, Kathy Cook Littleton and Lori Cook Fox; two great grandchildren; four step grandchildren, Robert and William T. Moore, John and Katherine Gehm.Deceased are two step daughters, Inez Moore and Thelma Gehm; one brother, Artie Ashby; two sisters, Wilma Bungard and Thelma Morris.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Cameron First Brethren Church of the Mt. Carmel Church of God.
